It became one of the busiest trading ports on the Ligurian coast and today is the second most popular city after Paris.<\/p>\n<p>The small historic old town (Vieux Nice) is characterful, slow-paced and un-touristy. It feels like a medieval village yet is moments away from all the main tourist sites.
